My Year of Meaningful (2011)

"Quality takes you out of yourself, makes you aware of the world around you." - R.M. Pirsig

Holy BALLS!!! & Happy bday.

In humble respect of my very very dear friend Fay, who's birthday it is today, I wrote a blog entry and it is based around her, in her honor. Happy birthday my short, posh, and very classy mate!! :)

Friggin WHAT?!?!

Dear friend Fay in Aus called this morning, and she said the most interesting thing:
"yeah I tried to read back farther in your blogs and it wouldn't let me read the past-month ones".

For some reason, I heard the words, but they didnt really click... I worked away for another 8 hours thinking nothing more about it.

Well, sure enough, just now got home and I clicked "july" to check it out, and. . . . Nothing!

Guess when you change blog addresses, your old kak doesn't move over to the new one. WOULD YOU BELIEVE THAT?!? But here's where the grand moment of zen comes:

I didn't freak out. Which is unusual because the whole point of me starting a blog was to be able to write down all this crap for the memory books-- to put an end to my last 10+ years of wiping out memories, either by accident or by choice.... and of course regretting it later.

...and there it was, the realization of the past 6 months of typing in here, just gone?

And I remained calm, and really didn't give a shit. How weird is that?

There's some deep-seeded reason for that, I'm sure, but it's Friday and I'm getting ready to go out for the Environnmental Section xmas dinner at Aroma for our office, so I can't be bothered delving into those dark realms to try and figure out WHY there was this unpredictable moment of zen... but the point is: I didnt freak out. At all. It was as if I was totally unfazed by everything I've logged for the record books which had just been wiped clean.

Anyway the good news is I found out if you just click "re-publish entire blog" they all come back.
So, they're all back now, and it's spooky that I didn't freak out - like that moment of zen was given to me, because it would just have been a waste of time and rage to flip out about something that was solvable with one click of a link. And it's a friday and the universe is in a good mood?

The double whammy? This whole chain of events stemmed from one weird zen incident: I sent Fay a stupid text message which resulted in her believing (and then not believing, and then believing) that I had been poisoned by mistakenly eating a daffodill bulb that I thought was an onion.

Had that never happened? Well who knows when I'd ever rescue my old personal stories and ramblings from the internet limbo.

Go figure.

But uhhhhh, Thanks, Fay, for the tip-off!! Sorry about the damned poisoning scare, I guess the communication breakdown came in handy after all!!! :-)

AND HAPPY FRIGGIN BIRTHDAY YE OLDE BIDDY!!!

Now! On to getting pimped out in black and wine and eatin' free food on the boss.
