&$%#*!!!
We go to the gym every tuesday at lunch. Today I packed my gym bag and proceeded to work as usual but we had to take 2 cars because of a meeting and what-what-what. Anyway TYPICAL, if we don't drive to work together, something goes awry. It's lunch time and WHERE'S my gym bag?
Oh I don't know, probably at home sitting on the driveway or at the kitchen door or something.
Blast it!
So the Mr. has gone without me. I can literally feel the flab layering itself around my mid-section.
But hey, at least I can type in here a bit.
The weekend was so busy. 2 early early early mornings. As in pre-7am on saturday and sunday. Now that is just WRONG. But regardless, it was a good cause. Saturday I had to organize the animal people's stall and gate duties at the big annual raft race & music fest on the dam. It was a whole day of chaos, but us animal people earned a bunch of money and I got to see everyone in town (mostly drunk) and socialize on the side. Then sunday was the big doggy walkathon (shelter fundraiser) which we attended with Reggie and Billy as our designated walkers.
We watched I Am Legend on friday night - which was pretty good, for a sci-fi. I really usually groan about watching anything sci-fi, but T. was up here for the night and he wanted to watch it, so we did. There was a puppy in it, so that made up for all the alien-life-forms and tired end-of-the-world storyline.
According to the new (good) vet, Reggie apparently has one lump which is NOT cancerous, and one which most likely is. Now that, is the definition of bittersweet news.
An ex-fling and totally low-quality memory has recently gotten in touch with me who I would've been fine with never speaking to again. It's bizarre. This guy never did anything wrong to me, it's just that in hindsight I know that I should've never even come within 10 feet of him as a matter of ethics and morals. So now that he's in touch again I just see his name and think "eeww. bad scene!" which is wrong, because like I said, he's totally innocent in the saga. He just wants to catch up with 8 years of lost communique. I just tend to want to forget that at one time in my life I was a total bitch with no scruples. I guess this is penance.
However, I also just got an out-of-the-blue email today from one of my best friends from High School, who I've also lost touch with for several years, and who would absolutely positively be at least No. 2 on my "list of regrettable estrangements", so THAT is fantastic. I regularly miss this guy so, so much. It's actually largely due to him that I am the person I am today, music, argument tactics, sense of humor and all. The internet can be a wonderful thing.
Being a student again is not all that bad. So far all the reading I've done has not put me to sleep, and I think I can do well in this course because of my previous experience in the industry, so I'm keeping positive. We'll see how long that lasts. What I have learned so far is that risk management is all about identifying hazards and their severity. Word.
The weather is awesome here right now. I love autumn so much it's stupid.
Well ok, I didn't get any exercise on this lunch break but I did get a blog entry written. And I did eat a dried apricot or two.
