I've been invited to an American Hoo-Ha

It's for the 4th of July.
But it's being held on the 5th of July.
Apparently you have to *buy* whatever food you eat, and you're encouraged to "bring a dessert to share".
It's being held at a local primary school and it's on "between the hours of 1pm and 4pm".
And I quote (from the invitation):
Two important things to remember if you are planning to attend this event: 1. An RSVP is required for security purposes so that an admission list can be formulated. 2. Everyone must bring their ID (preferably U.S. passport) or they will not be admitted.
Sounds CA-RAAZY!!!! Jeez. And the Dutch meanwhile have a big beer bash every year (gratis) complete with dancin' ladies.
