My Year of Meaningful (2011)

"Quality takes you out of yourself, makes you aware of the world around you." - R.M. Pirsig

Comedy Therapy

Well, I'm feeling kinda gypped that today is a day off for everyone in town, but the Mr. and I have to work b/c we're so busy, and I have to write 3 assignments for my course. So I'm tapping into Humor Therapy to make it all better...

My in-laws used to get a French foster kid just for the summers, about every summer when the Mr. was little (my MIL is fluent in french, and this was one way she liked to contribute to the greater good, as well as keep up her french mojo). Anyway, one of their "regulars" has just recently found the Mr. on the Facebook, and started writing him. The problem is, she doesn't speak Dutch, Frisian, or English, so her messages look like this:

"Congratulations on your marriage, you mother sent me some pictures and I am very happy for you. Your wife is very nice and simple. I go very well. Far too many things has tell you but so happy to see again yourself "

"I again said nothing in your mother, but I reserve for him a surprise for summer, 2010. We are going to come every 4 to your town and I search a tenancy for summer nowadays. It is absolutely necessary that I scannes photographs to send them to you. I embrace you as well as your wife. "

"I embrace you very much. You know your whole family is very important to me and I also know that many tears will flow at our reunion and I look forward for your mother of my heart I miss him greatly"

Annnnnnnnnyway, I know it's a disgrace that I'm using this poor girl's heartfelt messages as humor therapy, but I can't help it! To make it just 4% more virtuous though, I make sure I make the mental link between her bad translation and my own Dutch/Spanish/Setswana skillz. And hereby grant anyone that wants it, the freedom to piss their own pants at my laughable foreign language use!!
