In other news, did you know that a photo of a baby in the bathtub (no private parts exposed) violates the terms and conditions of the use of photobucket.com? Far out! So they delete it for you. Sweet of them, no???

Anyway.... this new coffee we bought "Jamaican blend" tastes like the way my granddaddy's house smelled. Like cigarettes and coffee. And dust. And old leather. And smoke-infused carpeting and wallpaper. And Wichita. And the '70s. If I'm lyin, I'm dyin. That is EXACTLY how this coffee tastes. It ain't bad though, I like it ok. Not as good as our usual choice "Weiner Mischung Blend", or as I like to call it "Weener Machine".
Where was I going with this?
This weekend was fine - relaxing to the point of near boredom but I think that's just in comparison with how over-the-top everything has been recently. Actually, now that I think about it, I personally didn't leave the plot for 2 days straight. Wow. But both of us were super busy doing our trip planning. It appears that although we still haven't received our confirmation email from the airline (which worries me because there could be a credit card issue there?), the Australia trip has been booked and finalized (WAHOO!!! Youse Aussie guys... we are coming for you!!! Sandra get those damned portuguese bakery breakfasty custardy pastry thingies ready!!)
AND I have selected the USA trip dates and put some serious elbow grease into finding THOSE flights... except they are worryingly VERY expensive. Why must americans all travel between June and July? Ugh!! Unfair. Totally unfair. And I think the World Cup (WHICH we got tickets to, BTW.... NL vs. Denmark yee haw) has sabotaged some of our dates for flights, price-wise too. However, I will perservere. The Mr. read recently that the oil prices have taken a dive and that it is likely that flight prices will come down, particularly once the World Cup starts and airlines realize that No, actually not EVERYONE on the PLANET is flying to/from South Africa and therefore they are actually NOT in a position to exploit outrageous airfares out of people crossing the dark continent.
So that one is still being researched. But at least dates have been decided, so we're nearly there!
Friday we watched "Passengers" starring Anne Hathaway. It's ehhhh okay ehhhh, reminds me a lot of the book I just finished reading: "Night Fall" by Nelson Demille. But it was filmed in Vancouver so that got me all excited about said North America trip, which we will be finishing there, to see Podgey & Rach & our fellow adopter buddies RH & The Abster of Namibia '09 fame. I also got to have a long overdue catchup with El Podgio as well as Brandon and those are the friday activities I live for. Drinking white wine while doing internet chat with my besties. ahhh weekend.
The weekend also saw more geetar lessons with The Mr., as well as banjo pickin as well as swimming pool time and me getting my ass sunburnt. That puts a whole new strain on my crunches routine (see previous blog) considering all the friction on the old tukkis which that particular exercise necessitates.

OH and apparently my kid is a miniature child. Soo & Mx brought over 4-month old baby M. on friday and OMG she's as big (bigger?) as The Joo? I am so bad - I have no idea how big a 10month old should be, but if this is the case (as is with our Ecologist's 4month old) then apparently it is possible that I may not end up being the shortest person in our family after all, 18 years from now. Oh well, the Dr.s say she is perfectly healthy so there is no worry. But there goes my idea of recycling all her baby clothes to the 2 babies that I know who are younger than her!! Eish! Micro-baby!!

We had a bumper crop this year of these gorgeous little bell-shaped yellow cherry tomatoes. While meanwhile, I have gotten exactly 1 (one) "normal" tomato this whole year. What's up with that? I have kicked ass on the spinach and beets, and the onions are still in the ground so I don't know what's going on under there yet. What I *do* know is that the zucchinis were kind of a bust, giving me exactly enough to make 1 zucchini casserole (for xmas).... butternut has been a total failure, and wild cucumbers are in abundance but english cukes not so much.
